Seasonal Wisdom

The season has changed. With the arrival of Fall comes warmer clothing for cooler weather and thoughts of the upcoming holidays. Celebrations of the harvest, feasts of light, birthdays (mine comes in December), anniversaries of deaths of loved ones. A lot of memories of holidays past. It can be a difficult time if shorter days effect your moods. Many of us are impacted by the shortened daylight hours. May I please offer a few tips? Place some high wattage light bulbs in your bathroom bedroom and kitchen. A few minutes of bright light a day can help ward off winter "blues". Choose a bright colored scarf or jacket and wear them often. Get a bright color of lipstick or new warm smelling aftershave cologne, something that makes you smile when you put it on. Memorize a passage of scripture or an empowering quote that can help you past dreary moments. The 23rd Psalms works season for me. Remember to start your day with prayer and expressions of gratitude. Can't go wrong with either. Throw in some bible study or words of truth wisdom and empowerment of your choice. Make sure you plan some recreation time. I'm needing to do better with that. Hope these tips help. I'm taking them myself because I feel the season changing. Best love to all. Alyce
